The Club

Anatolian Shepherd Dogs International Inc (ASDI) is a 501(c) (4) tax exempt "not for profit" organization.

ASDI has an interest in hosting dog shows and promoting the exhibition of purebred Anatolians with the United Kennel Club (UKC) of which we are the provisional parent club. Shows hosted by us are under the umbrella of UKC. UKC maintains the show points and provides awards such as championships.

We are active in the Anatolian community and work toward furthering the advancement and the appreciation of the purebred Anatolian, a working livestock guardian dog originally from Turkey. We do all in our power to protect and advance the preservation of the breed through our special registry requirements with UKC and through education of members and the general public. We encourage owners and breeders of the Anatolian Shepherd to join our club. Our members do all the activities on a volunteer basis at no cost.

Current and Future Activities:
- Dog shows and obedience trials
- Handling instruction for conformation, agility and obedience
- Breeder Referral
- Rescue of dogs
- Therapy Dog participation
- Members working with youth organizations
- Member participation in local community events to educate the public about the care and use of the Anatolian Shepherd Dog as a working livestock guardian.
- Donations to 501(c) non-profit organizations involving the Anatolian Shepherd Dog
- Maintaining a current and very informative website for public education of the unique needs, purpose and characteristics of the Anatolian Shepherd.
- Requiring all breeding stock to be certified clear of hip dysplasia in order to reduce the hereditary defect of crippling hip dysplasia in our breed
- Allowing an open Anatolian Shepherd Dog registry with UKC which requires that all single registered Anatolians be cleared of hip dysplasia. - - An open registry allows new bloodlines to be brought into our genepool, reducing the congenital and hereditary diseases which can be a result of a small genepool.
- Through our newsletter and website, we make available to our members and the public a club produced Breed Book as well as other informative books which address topics such as Anatolian breed history, breed standard, puppy training, livestock guardian dog training and general training for all dogs.
- Produce an informative newsletter.

Kennel Name Registration --- $25
2006- ASDI has not been a registry for over ten years. We are not involved with Kennel Name registrations. If you would like to register a kennel name, contact ASDCA or AKC for information on Kennel Name registrations.
